The University Library, besides being open for the university’s students and staff, is also a public library. So, when you graduate from MDU, you can continue to borrow from the library’s collections, though in a slightly different way.
The library premises
As a private individual, you are welcome to visit the library premises and borrow printed books, or read e-books and e-journals on site.
Printed books
You are as a private individual welcome to borrow the University Library's printed books. Please contact the University Library after your graduation, and we will help you transform your student account into an account for private use. Please bring your ID for this occasion.
Accessing electronic resources
Throughout your studies you can access the library's electronic resources with your MDU account. The MDU account will remain active for yet four more semesters after your last registration on a course. This means that you during this period will still be able to access the library’s e-books and electronic articles from where you are, in total for about 1,5 years after your graduation. When you no longer have an active MDU account, you can instead access e-books and e-journals by visiting the library premises and there on site use the library’s computers. You can obtain a temporary MDU account at the Student Centre.
Searching the collections
In the Primo library catalogue you will find both our printed and electronic books and articles.
